Love to pump up the resistance? Here are 5 things that only spin fans will understand!
I love to spin, it’s probably my favourite fitness class to take part in. With so many spin studios available in the city I think it’s super exciting to see how the spin culture has become such a phenomenon to people’s fitness. Once you start spinning there’s no going back.
Here’s 5 things that only spin fans will understand…
Your hair tie falling out in the middle of a sprint
There’s nothing worse then fuelling the pedals with momentum to then have your hair glued to your sweat-soaked body during a sprint. A quick break to quickly tie it back up? I think so.
Dropping your water bottle
Dropping your water bottle during a ride feels like the spotlight is on you. Everybody watches your bottle trail further away from you, followed by yourself frantically debating whether to get it or not. You know what everybody is thinking… “Eurgh there’s always one.”
Getting the bike that makes an awkward noise
There must be over 20 bikes in the room but of course you happen to pick the one that doesn’t function properly. Just has to be you! Doesn’t matter how loud the music is you can still hear your bike making abnormal noises throughout the class. Ride above the noise girl, you’ve got this!
Showing your appreciation
That sensational moment when the whole class is riding on point, nailing those beats and your favourite song is playing, you are loving life! You want to show your appreciation but feel too embarrassed to whoop with your instructor so awkwardly opt for a fist pump instead. Yep, did someone ask for an awkward team mascot?! I think not. Mental note to future self: let’s stick to the whoop!
It wouldn’t be a hardcore spin class without having a “f**k that” moment when your instructors tells you to increase your resistance. One time I did ignore the instruction but then got named and shamed in front of the class. Scarred for life.
I know there are more things that only spin fans will understand but these were definitely my favourites. I want to find out what are yours?
