Working Out In Bodysuits

Working out in bodysuits. Surely not? Have we gone back in time to an 80s at home aerobic video? These were my thoughts exactly after noticing big activewear brands creating the retro fitness attire. However, despite it seeming quite ridiculous and bizarre, I am surprisingly here for it. Thanks to my insta poll, a lovely 78% said no chance to working out in bodysuits, but I’m here for the 32% who want to do Olivia Newton proud at the gym. Here’s my favourite activewear pieces for working out in bodysuits.

There’s nothing worse than feeling uncomfortable whilst working out. Bodysuits may seem like the last thing you would want to wear at the gym, but I was pleasantly surprised by this sleek cami bodysuit by Boody. Boody uses bamboo material which not only makes their designs unique, but incredibly soft too. Interested? Check out my Boody review for more activewear pieces. Fitted and flattering, this bodysuit screams barre, yogi and pilates kinda vibes – you’ll be dazed by how versatile this item will be in your gym wardrobe.

A revolution in fitness wear, their Sports One Piece 7/8 is a figure-sculpting stretch fit one piece that performs.First impressions, it does resemble scuba diver vibes but the open cross back design and mesh accents makes this piece flattering and comfortable for working out.

Feeling comfortable whilst working out is a priority to Tatiana Kovylina, founder of high end sport luxe Silou. That’s why Silou’s Fonda bodysuit is the perfect piece to wear if you don’t want to go full one piece mode. Baby steps. It’s elbow-length sleeves and wide, collar-bone skimming fit make it just as flattering with your wardrobe as it is on its own, while the thickness of the fabric skims and holds your shape beautifully. Tatiana says, ‘I religiously wear it day and night, pairing the body with leggings, skirts or jeans. It feels like a second skin and has a beautiful neckline which is super flattering on the body. It looks great on everyone I’ve seen it on and it always gets a lot of attention.’
