In August I travelled to Paris for the spectacular launch of Reebok’s PureMove bra. During my two days with Reebok, I discovered the creation of PureMove, smashed a boxing class with Reebok’s gorgeous ambassador and actor, Nathalie Emmanuel, ran through the streets of Paris with Midnight Runners and of course tested out PureMove bra. During my visit, I realised how important it is to feel comfortable whilst working out.
A shocking one in five women avoid exercise because they don’t have the right sports bra, Reebok embarked on a journey determined to change the status quo and here’s why Reebok’s PureMove bra is changing the game.
New motion sense technology
Nothing ruins a great workout quite like wearing the wrong sports bra. Thanks to Reebok’s PureMove bra, you can say goodbye to any wardrobe malfunction worries. Key to the bra’s new motion sense technology is a combination of a performance-based fabric with Sheer Thickening Fluid (STF). This is a gel-like solution, previously incorporated into spacesuits, that takes a liquid form when in a still or slow-moving state and antithetically stiffens and solidifies when moving at a higher momentum. As a result, the bra stretches less with high impact movements whilst promising comfort during lower intensity activities, meaning you can confidently wear the bra for a variety of exercises with the correct support.
I feel like the term ‘second-skin design’ tends to get thrown around. However, it wasn’t until the end of my first day in Paris, before I was getting ready to bed, that I remembered I was still wearing the PureMove bra. This bra is legit second-skin feel. After conducting experiments at The University of Delaware to test breast movement using biomechanics, Reebok discovered that the most supported bra was only one layer of fabric. In conclusion, a second-skin like design that creates a barely-there feel!
Suitable for any workout
“The minimalist design of the bra may seem deceiving when you first hold it, but you should not confuse this for lack of support or technology. Every single detail is intentional and directly informed by years of our testing and research,” says Danielle Witek, Senior Innovation Apparel Designer at Reebok. The PureMove bra excels breathable perforations located in front and back to keep you cool as well as comfortable by it’s molded front panel that emphasizes a second-skin fit.
Comes in unique sizes
Reebok understands the struggles of finding a sports bra that fits accurately. Rather than saturating small, medium and large, Reebok’s recognition that sports bras cannot be available in just three sizes has lead them to cater PureMove bra in 10 unique variations. Ultimately, this allows a greater range of women to enjoy the benefits of the bra.
I am still in awe with Reebok’s PureMove bra, I wear it during my high intensity sessions, whilst running and sometimes instead of my normal every day bras. If you have problems finding a comfortable bra to workout in, check out Reebok’s PureMove bra.
